Backup stuck at 99%

I tried backing up my WhatsApp chat for 24hrs. However, it is stuck at 99%. I am using an android device. I cleared the WhatsApp cache as well as, restarting my device. I recently updated the WhatsApp app. But, I still haven't managed to resolve the issue. I have read an article stating it's an issue faced my a lot of users however, my backup was last done on the 1st of this month. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance 🙂.
