Tom Cruise always plays Tom Cruise in every movie, and the character sucks.

I don't like Tom Cruise.

Hey, does anybody want to see the new mission impossible movie? The one funded by Tom Cruise so Tom Cruise can play his favorite character, Tom Cruise? In this movie, the main character, Tom, will be handsome, smarter than everyone, get all the girls, blow stuff up and do some big budget stunts? The story will be thin, it probably won't make much sense and will rely heavily on fast action and a lot of running.

Tom Cruise is not much better than Steven Seagal, in that he makes crappy movies with himself as the main character and is always, always, a godlike unkillable figure. Cruise is better looking, in better shape and gets a bigger budget to play with. That's the only difference.

EDIT- The dig about Seagal is entirely focused on the arrogant, self-important narcissism. Seagal is a much worse person in general and has gone down hill fast.

This isn't about Tom and Scientology. That sucks, but this rant is about every movie he makes having to be an action hero flick, with almost supernatural abilities in the main character, Tom.

Remember, this is UNPOPULAR OPINIONS.

EDIT - I only say its an unpopular opinion, because I posted it once before. It was slammed with down votes and removed by moderators in about 30 minutes. I was like, "I guess you people disagree"

EDIT - I have seen nearly all of his movies. He has done some good roles. I feel that he specifically produces movies and roles that I dislike for a false hero narrative. They literally say repeatedly "This guy is the greatest and nobody else could ever possibly do this." You have to accept this premise for the movie to make sense. Its a shitty plot device and they beat you with it.
