Should I replace the thermal paste on an old x280?
I got a moderately used x280 and I was wondering if I should bother replacing it's thermal paste.
I'm not sure on the quality of the stock stuff as this is my first Thinkpad but I do have a tube of Artic silver 5 laying around but I'm not sure if it's worth the slight risk (bare die cpu's scare me).
It idles at around ~38c (15c above ambient) and can go up to ~80c but from what I've read high temps seems to be common for this model but I'm not entirely sure.
EDIT: Ended up just doing it, max temps are exactly the same but idle temps seem to be better.
