Halifax airport

I am visiting Halifax for an appointment for work. The appointment timing is such that i cannot fly in and out the same day. I might have to stay a night in Halifax, is it safe to stay at airport for the night? i am flying in late and have early morning appointment so booking a hotel for just few hours is getting expensive, flying out in afternoon the next day.
