8.5 year old still hasn’t lost any teeth

The dentist is not worried about it and says it will happen one day. But as a parent I'm very much worried. He used to grind his teeth a lot while sleeping and now there is barely anything left. Please tell me he is not the only one with all the baby teeth at this age.
