Expat life in Lagos, Nigeria

Has anyone got any insight as to what life is like as an expat in Nigeria? I would be based in Ikoyi, Lagos with my husband and newborn.

How much does the lack of safety impact freedom? Is there much to do within the parameters of not putting ourselves at risk?
